Lake Bled in December at a glance
Lake Bled in December is quieter than in summer, and the main event is the winter fair called Zimska pravljica. It runs from 27 November 2026 to 10 January 2027 between Zdraviliški park, the Jezerska promenada and Hotel Park. The programme lists lights, music, food and drink stands and local crafts. Dates and times can change, so check the current programme before you travel.
Daylight is short, the island and the castle keep winter hours, and some summer attractions are closed. If you want to book a guided trip for the day, look at the Lake Bled tours before you fix your dates.

Winter hours for the island, boats and castle
The summer timetable does not apply in December.
Pletna boats
From November to March the pletna boats run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A boat leaves when it is full, so there is no minute-by-minute timetable, and bad weather can stop the service. The adult return fare is €20, children aged 4 to 12 pay €10.

In December the church, the Potičnica and the gallery open Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The 2026 culture ticket is €12 for adults. The boat ticket does not include it.
Bled Castle
From November to March the castle opens from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Adults pay €19, children €7 and students €11.50 in 2026. The museum shows a new permanent exhibition, complete since 21 May 2026.

The nearest climate station is Lesce, at 515 m. Its 1981 to 2010 normals give December an average high of 3.6 °C, an average low of −3.8 °C and 119 mm of precipitation. On average there are 11 mornings with snow on the ground. That is a long-term average, not a forecast, so do not plan around guaranteed snow. The lake itself cools to about 4 °C in winter. Do not count on ice for walking or skating.

The gorge is a seasonal site and is closed in winter. Do not plan a December visit around it, and check the current status first.

The Grajsko kopališče lido season in 2026 runs until 10 September. In December the lake is for looking at, not for swimming.
Vogel cable car at Lake Bohinj
The cable car is closed for maintenance, expected until 1 December 2026. The exact reopening date is still to be announced, so check before you plan a Bohinj day around it.

The lido season ends on 10 September in 2026, and the lake cools to about 4 °C in winter. Swimming is not a December plan.
